Work Zone Traffic Safety

Raymond Brushart will be joined by Cameron Keaton, Knox County Engineer to present Work Zone Traffic Safety, and Cameron will give an overview of projects in the County.

Raymond has been with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Columbus for over 16 years and is currently a Program Manager in the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), which is located within ODOT’s Office of Local Programs. 
In his work with LTAP he has developed and presented courses in Access Management, Work Zone Traffic Control, Roadway Safety, Township Speed Limit Establishment, and FHWA’s Every Day Counts (EDC) Initiative. He has also instructed courses for ODOT’s Safe Routes to School Program in the development of a Walking School Bus Program and Adult School Crossing Guard Training program.
Previous experience at ODOT includes working as a Studies Engineer within the Bureau of Traffic, where he reviewed and conducted safety studies and traffic impact studies all over the State. 
From 1995 through 2009, Raymond worked for the City of Columbus in their Traffic Engineering Division as the Private Development Engineer, where he was involved in reviewing all private development and transportation planning issues within the City from a traffic engineering perspective. 
Raymond received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering in 1990 from Ohio University.

Cameron Keaton, P.E., P.S. (Bio)

Cameron Keaton was sworn into office as Knox County Engineer May 13, 2016. He was appointed to fulfill the remaining term of Jim Henry who resigned May 5, 2016.  His first elected term of office began January 2, 2017.

He is a graduate of Youngstown State University (1992) and The University of Toledo (1989) with degrees in Civil Engineering. Cameron is licensed in the State of Ohio as a Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor. Is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE), National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO).

In 2008 he took the position as City Engineer of Mount Vernon, Ohio. In 2004 he began his career in public service as City Engineer of Ontario, Ohio. Upon graduating from college, he began his career in the private sector as a project engineer and surveyor working for consulting firms located in Richland County, Ohio.
